Ardsley High School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Head Coach for its fencing program. The ideal candidate will have prior experience coaching fencing at the interscholastic or club level, with demonstrated knowledge of all three weapons: foil, épée, and sabre. The coach will be responsible for leading, instructing, and mentoring student-athletes, while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment aligned with the school’s athletic philosophy.Responsibilities:- Provide daily instruction and coaching in foil, épée, and sabre.- Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, conditioning, andtactical awareness.- Oversee all aspects of program management, including equipment, safety, andcompetition readiness.- Supervise athletes at practices, matches, and tournaments in accordance with schooland NYSPHSAA guidelines.- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic accountability.- Collaborate with athletic department staff, administrators, and parents/guardians.Qualifications:- Prior fencing coaching experience required; high school or club level preferred.- Strong knowledge of all three weapons (foil, épée, sabre).- Ability to instruct athletes at varying skill levels, from novice to advanced.- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.- Must meet all New York State Education Department (NYSED) and NYSPHSAAcoaching certification requirements, including First Aid/CPR/AED.In addition to applying on OLAS, you must also apply on our website at www.ardsleyschools.org (click on Careers).
