DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES(Reports to the Superintendent of Schools) The Director of Human Resources provides leadership and coordination of the Human Resources Department. This director will assist central office administrators, as well as building administration in the area of human resources. This twelve-month position, reports to the Superintendent of Schools. SDA/SDL Certification required. A master’s Degree and successful experience as a central office and building level administrator is preferred. Must possess exceptional communication and management skills, a strong work ethic, be detailed oriented, and provide expert leadership in the following areas: Administers district’s personnel services program.Establishes and maintains appropriate personnel records for all staff.Plans, directs, coordinates, and participates in the recruitment of certificated and non-certificated personnel.Screens and selects qualified substitute teachers and is responsible for the substitute teacher service.Works with central office administration on projecting staffing needs of the district.Screens and processes applications of candidates.Assumes responsibility for developing personnel performance evaluation procedures.Conducts Superintendent’s Hearings under provisions of Section 3214 of New York State Education Law.Conducts Section 75 hearings as provided for under New York State Civil Service Law as directed by the Superintendent of Schools.Assists in the development of district policies and administrative regulations.Interprets and clarifies personnel policies for employees and attempts to resolve grievances as needed.Makes recommendations to the Superintendent relating to the appointment, reassignment, promotion, retirement, and resignation of all personnel.Prepares the Superintendent’s personnel recommendations for submission to the Board.Prepares and maintains seniority, excessing, preferred eligibility and reassignment lists, and the district’s personnel roster.Plans, develops, maintains, and administers personnel recordkeeping programs and procedures.Prepares reports on probationary, tenure, and certification status of all personnel for the Superintendent, Board, New York State Education Department, and the Suffolk County Department of Civil Service.Serves as a leading member of the contract negotiations team.Oversees workplace investigations related to discrimination, harassment, and other personnel-related matters.Serves as a district’s sexual harassment and Title IX compliance officer.Performs such other administrative duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent of Schools may assign. SALARY RANGE: Competitive salary commensurate withexperience $150,000 - $170,000 START DATE: August 14, 2025 (Probationary Appointment)
