Amagansett UFSDJob Title: Director of Pupil Personnel Services & CPSE/CSE ChairpersonJob Summary: The Director of Pupil Personnel Services & CPSE/CSE Chairperson oversees all aspects of student support services, with a specific focus on managing the CPSE and CSE processes for preschool and school-aged students with disabilities. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, facilitates collaborative decision-making, and coordinates services to meet the educational needs of students within the Amagansett Union Free School District.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Leadership and Administration:Provide leadership and supervision to the pupil personnel services team, including school counselors, psychologists, social workers, and support staff.Oversee the administration of the CPSE and CSE processes, ensuring compliance with timelines and regulatory requirements.Facilitate CPSE and CSE meetings, including scheduling, preparing documentation, and conducting discussions to develop appropriate educational plans for students with disabilities.Special Education Oversight:Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.Monitor the implementation of IEPs and 504 plans, ensuring that services are provided as outlined and evaluating their effectiveness.Ensure that students' educational placements and services align with their identified needs and educational goals.Coordination and Collaboration:Serve as a liaison between the district, parents/guardians, community agencies, and other stakeholders involved in supporting students with disabilities.Coordinate transition planning for students moving between grade levels, schools, or exiting special education services.Collaborate with external agencies and organizations to enhance support services and resources available to students and families.Data Management and Reporting:Maintain accurate and confidential records of CPSE and CSE proceedings, assessments, evaluations, and service plans.Prepare reports, data analyses, and presentations for district administrators, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.Utilize data to evaluate the effectiveness of special education programs and services and make data-driven decisions.Qualifications:Master’s degree in Special Education, School Psychology, School Counseling, or related field.New York State certification as a School District Leader (SDL) or equivalent administrative certification.Minimum of three years of experience in special education administration, including serving as a CPSE/CSE chairperson.Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and best practices related to special education and the CPSE/CSE process.Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Salary and Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan options, and professional development opportunities.**Amagansett School is an equal opportunity employer.
