Teacher Assistant Position:The Amagansett School District is seeking a qualified teaching assistant to join an enthusiastic, experienced team of collaborative educators. Experience and/or a background in the field of education is preferred but not required. The Teaching Assistant will assist the instructional programs of the school and related activities by performing relative tasks related to educational activities and providing direct instructional service to students.The successful candidate for this position will work with the classroom teacher to create a safe, welcoming, engaging environment where students continue to develop their love for learning. The role of an Assistant Teacher is to support, collaborate and be a team player in and outside of the classroom. Roles and responsibilities the Amagansett UFSD is looking for in an Assistant Teacher include but are not limited to:Positive attitude with students and staffWillingness to learn, be flexible, jump in and work hardWith direction and guidance, support the classroom teacher in developing units, lessons and supporting students during learning timeWork with students in small groups to support their learning needsUse technology to input data, record attendance, print materials, etc.Understand, support and use the classroom behavioral management system to support overall classroom managementWork with specific students who may need additional support in specific areas or times throughout the school daySupport the classroom teacher in organizing documents, data, student work and other general classroom tasks**Amagansett School is an equal opportunity employer.
