We currently have a great opportunity for a Technology Teacher with experience with Early Literacy, Smart Board and iPad to teach and train staff and pre-school special need students. Provides instruction to classroom staff and other therapists on technology topics. Manages technology material and equipment and ensures that materials and equipment are available as necessary and are properly used. Develops, implements, and maintains technology curriculum consistent with the Creative Curriculum, which is aligned with the New York State P-12 Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS), and ensures continuity with the Common Core State Standards in ELA and Math. Qualifications: BA or MA in Education. NYS Certification B-Gr2 preferred; experience working in a classroom environment with special needs population strongly preferred. Must possess experience in technology-based instruction, and fully versed in using tools and equipment associated with said instruction (systems, devices, computers, etc.). Must be fluent with Smart Board technology and software, programming a range of student augmentative and alternative communication devices, iTouch, iPad and similar devices, PowerPoint, and instructional technology.
