Currently seeking a Substitute Special Education Preschool Teacher for our Howard Haber ELC in Parkchester, Bronx.Address: 2300 Westchester Avenue Bronx, NY 10462Role Description:Per Diem (Summer or Fall Contract) | Monday-Friday | Parking on premisesHours: 8:30 P.M-3:00 P.MAbility to work effectively with children with developmental disabilities.Knowledge of signs of abuse and mandated reporting requirements as required by law.Ability to provide expert supervision to teacher assistants, based on ongoing and current knowledge of theory, research and best practices in the field of developmental disabilities.Demonstrated success in communicating effectively and in establishing and maintaining relationships with broad base of constituents, including colleagues, teaching staff, individuals, family members, and external professional staff. This includes ability to present verbal information simply and concisely, to demonstrate effective public speaking presence, to be a skilled listener, and to demonstrate excellent writing skills.Must have solid organizational and multi-tasking skills and proven ability to make independent decisions, set appropriate program priorities, and handle time-sensitive situations.
