The Afton Central School District is accepting applications for a School Media Specialist (Library). The successful candidate will be appointed to a regular probationary appointment as soon as possible.The selected candidate will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school and district programs and goals K-12. Must ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information; empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information; collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement units of instruction and assess student learning on a district-wide level.Minimum qualification for the position is School Media Specialist (Library) certification by the N.Y.S. Education Department.Salary for the position is negotiable depending upon the experience and education of the successful candidate.
