ACDS Pelham - 575 Fowler Ave, Pelham, NY 10803 School Nurse LPN or RN – Full Time Position ACDS, Inc. is dedicated to providing lifetime resources and services of exceptional quality for children and adults with Down syndrome, Autism and other developmental disabilities. The ACDS Pelham branch, located in Pelham NY, currently provides preschool special education programs consisting of 8:1:2 and 12:1:2 classes, working with children ages 3-5 years old with cognitive disabilities. ACDS is seeking a NYS licensed LPN or RN, who is passionate about serving their community, to work closely with the school principal and medical director in providing center-based services and care for our students and staff.Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm45 week position, 7 weeks paid vacation built into school year.45 week term includes 6 week summer program (typically 1st week of July to 2nd week of August) 4410 preschool experience a major plus! Bilingual English/Spanish preferred! Pediatric experience is a must! Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Plan school health programs.Maintain health care standards pertaining to Federal, State and County laws and regulations.Establish policies and administer first aid to students and employees until medical help arrives.Evaluate emergency situations and respond appropriately.Screen all incoming student and staff medical forms.Administer medication, when necessary, only with written doctor's orders, parents written request and only if medication is contained in its properly labeled original pharmacy bottle.Contact parents and care for students who are absent, who become ill or injured during school hours.
