In addition to the preschool curriculum, children receive center-based physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. We also provide family training and counseling. We provide a nurturing and supportive environment and offer our families education and encouragement to help their children reach their goals.ACDS Westchester is looking for either a fee for service licensed Physical Therapist or an independent contractor licensed Physical Therapist specializing in pediatrics to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team! The PT is responsible for the remediation of children with a wide range of disabilities/delays.Key responsibilities of the Physical Therapist include:The PT will provide and direct physical therapy services to students as per their IEP mandates.The PT will develop treatment plans to achieve identified goals.The PT will adhere to applicable principles and practices of physical therapy, APTA policies/procedures, and state regulations.The PT will work collaboratively with OTs, SLP’s, school psychologists and classroom staff as needed to provide positive treatment outcomes.The PT will work effectively with parents, teaching staff and other professionals directly involved in the care and treatment of the child to develop and monitor IEP servicesThe PT will complete all necessary paperwork accurately and timely (e.g., daily session notes, quarterly progress reports, annual reviews, etc.).The PT will participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team concerning the needs of each child as related to his/her mandated services and progress updatesThe PT will be responsible for providing input into and when appropriate fabrication of child’s assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and orthotic appliance needsThe PT will comply with federal and state Physical Therapy regulations.Qualifications:Valid New York State Physical Therapy licenseMaster’s Degree or Doctorate degreeMust have experience working with childrenBilingual skills are a plus, but not requiredExperience:Pediatric PT experience preferredNew Graduates with Pediatric experience considered
