QUALIFICATIONS: Visionary leader who will be able to provide effective instructional leadership to the school community.A leader who is culturally responsive, and has the ability to create a school community that works collaboratively and promotes high expectations for all students.Responsible for the hiring of teachers in collaboration with Academic Directors.Respond and meet with parents to discuss specific concerns.Establish professional development activities for teachers, while setting school standards.Review and implement district policies and school procedures.Responsible for handling all school emergencies and school crisis situations.Responsible for attending conferences to gain knowledge on current educational trends.Full understanding of the special education continuum of services and familiar with special education laws.Knowledge of Part 154 Regulations and strategies/skills that support Multiple Language Learners.Exceptional communication and presentation skills.Vast knowledge of interdisciplinary and authentic project-based learning activities.Building level supervisory experience including building a master schedule.Strong knowledge in literacy instruction and social/emotional learning.Well-versed in restorative justice practices.Oversee the performance of teachers by conducting formal and informal observations.Ensures that the district’s mission statement is the driving force for all decision-making.Versed in creating staff development opportunities to enhance teacher practice.Bilingual background helpful.Other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Superintendent of Schools.
