(2) Anticipated Openings: 2025-2026 School Year Dean of Students Islip Middle SchoolIslip High School The Islip School District seeks a student-centered educator who is dedicated to professional growth and committed to the success of all students. The successful candidate will currently hold the required certification (see below), have experience working as a middle school and/or high school teacher and meet the desired qualifications outlined below. This is a building administrator position and will be included in the Islip Association of School Administrators unit. Certification: New York State Department of Education Certification SBL/SDL Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Communicate with parents/teachers/administration about student behaviors.Mediate student conflicts to enhance a positive building culture.Collaborate with support staff regarding student needs.Oversee the management, record keeping and reporting of daily student attendance, and discipline related to attendance.Meet with students regarding decision making/behavior.Manage student discipline and student code of conduct violations.Incorporate methods of Restorative Justice into student management decisions.Support the building administrative team with NYS reporting related to attendance and student discipline, student supervision and student discipline.Participate in "Buccaneer Round Table to develop positive interactions / events with student body.Perform teacher observations using the NYSUT RubricPlease submit a letter of interest and resume via OLAS to: Donna Brower, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Administrative Services
