POSTINGPOSITION AVAILABLE2025-2026Wyandanch Memorial High SchoolGUIDANCE COUNSELOR—Bilingual (Spanish Preferred) We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and innovative Guidance Counselor who has the passion of supporting students through academic, personal and career advisement. The candidate must demonstrate acommitment to innovation and interdisciplinary methods of counseling while collaborating with allstakeholders. Duties include but are not limited to:· Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students in the areas of self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills.· Assist in crisis response, conflict resolution and behavior intervention· Monitor student schedule & make adjustments to ensure alignment with graduation, college/career readiness· Develop & implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with ASCA National Model· Support responsible decision making within the scope of the district’s long-term goals of increasing graduation rate, career goals and reducing chronic absenteeism.· Participate in IEP, 504, and MTSS/RTI meetings as appropriate· Other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: NYS School Counselor Certification; Demonstrated knowledge of high school graduation requirements, transcript evaluation, and post secondary planning; Ability to speak, read and write fluent Spanish language required.
