OLIVE MIDDLE SCHOOLTECHNOLOGY TEACHER Duties Include but are not limited to:¨ Providing strong instruction to students as aligned to the NYS Standards for Technology¨ Cooperating with building and district staff¨ Maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance¨ Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and instructional resources¨ Approaching the position with a focus on equity:Equity-based technology teaching requires more than implementing newcurriculum or using specific practices because it involves taking a stand for what is right. It requires technology teachers to reflect on their own identity, positions, and beliefs in regards to racist andsorting-based mechanisms. It involves noticing students, learning about the worlds they live in, and integrating technology that comes from these worlds. And finally, it involves engaging other educators in partnerships to build equity-oriented communities, both in and outside of the Classroom. Minimum Qualifications: NYS Technology Education or Instructional Technology Certification, Bilingual preferred. Requisite Skills: Strong Knowledge of Technology content and content area integrationStrong organizational and communication skillsStrong knowledge of digital platforms, including but not limited to Google ClassroomAbility to instruct students while managing behaviorImmediate Supervisor: Dr. Michele Darby, Milton L.
