POSTINGPOSITION AVAILABLE2024-2025DIRECTOR OF ENL, WORLD LANGUAGES & BILINGUAL EDUCATIONPosition:The district is committed to ensuring that there are effective leaders at the helm of every school and department, and a high-quality teacher in every classroom. To lead the English as a New Language (ENL), World Languages and Bilingual Education Office, the Director manages and oversees the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum and instructional practices within the areas of ENL, World Languages and Bilingual Education to ensure that all students meet and exceed the State Standards and receive opportunities to earn a New York State Seal of Biliteracy diploma. The Director works collaboratively with the administrative and instructional staff, develops partnerships with area agencies and higher education institutions, and communicates effectively with parents, members of the community and colleagues in other districts and schools. The Director follows current research and ensures compliance with federal, state and local policy.Duties include but are not limited to: ¨ Ensures compliance of the District's English as a New Language (ENL) and Bilingual Education program with federal, state and local policies¨ Oversees the accurate identification, enrollment, annual assessment and appropriate educational placement of students whose primary home language is other than English¨ Plans, coordinates and develops ENL/World Languages/Bilingual Education curriculum and other program practices¨ Ensures the correlation of English language development (ELD) curriculum, the World Language curriculum, the bilingual education curriculum and all instructional resources align and support with the NYS Academic Standards¨ Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & InstructionExperience & Qualifications: ¨ Three or more years of successful leadership as an administrator with a strong preference on having knowledge of relevant and available services in the community, policies and systems in place that are applicable to the lives of refugees and immigrants, and experience with helping refugees, immigrants and non-English speaking families adjust to life in new country¨ Proficient in developing and implementing programs and training and professional learning sessions that meet thediverse needs of English language learners and their families¨ New York State School District Administrator/School District Leader Certification Immediate Supervisor: Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Duration: 2024-2025 School Year Salary: Per WAA Contract
