The successful candidate will have a complete understanding of NYS graduation requirements and familiarity with Suffolk County, Town of Babylon and Wyandanch community resources. Cultural sensitivity and Spanish language access are necessary. The Attendance Teacher will collaborate with guidance staff to identify potential dropouts and ameliorate concerns by connecting families with the supports necessary to remove barriers to education. Our ultimate goal is to assist parents in becoming more involved with their children’s education and to promote a sense of community in support of improving graduation rates and reducing chronic absenteeism.
