POSTINGPOSITION AVAILABLE2023-2024VACANT POSITIONDIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTIONDemonstrated ability to:¨ Promote the Vision, Mission, Core Values & Graduate Profile of the district; Provide leadership, communicate & work effectively with students, staff members, parents, and educational community members¨ Serve as an essential member of a collaborative district leadership team, committed to working together toward the shared purpose of helping every learner to realize his/her full potential¨ Use creative problem-solving, decision-making skills & good judgement to provide a positive learning environment resulting in positive development & continuous improvement for students & staff¨ Use information, including relevant research & student data, in working with teachers to improve student learning & achievement; provide equity & access for all students¨ Demonstrate the ability & variety of effective instructional strategies/methods to classroom practices Duties Include but are not limited to:¨ Provides strong instructional leadership in all content areas & understands the developmental needs for students PK-12¨ Maintains high visibility throughout the district & makes a concerted effort to know the students & staff in the buildings¨ Develops and evaluates instructional methods and programs and recommends such changes and improvements¨ Supervises & evaluates certified and licensed building staff members¨ Commits to proactive communication between representative stakeholder groups to harmoniously align their efforts & common interests¨ Demonstrates an interest in constructivist pedagogy & authentic assessment¨ Views instructional technology as a means to engage students in learning¨ Participates in school district planning & decision making consistent with the District’s Mission, Vision, Core Values & Annual Strategic Goals¨ Effectively engages community stakeholders & seeks to resolve parent concerns in a consistent manner¨ Has experience developing external partnerships¨ Screens, interviews, & recommends qualified candidates for positions within the district & the orientation of new personnel¨ Administers the district in accordance with District Policies, Regulations & Procedures¨ Assesses & realigns curricula through the lens of equity& inclusions¨ Assist with the administration, coordination & implementation of Instructional Based Grants & Grant Funded Programs ¨ Facilitate training & implementation of the components of effective teaching adopted by our school district¨ Provide for the development of clear & comprehensive assessment of student achievement & interpretation of results to faculty& school community¨ Continuously monitor effectively the implementation of instructional support for students with disabilities & English Second Language Learners & facilitate the analysis of student achievement data to achieve continuous improvement Qualifications:A valid NYS SDL or SDA Certificate., Building Level Principal experience with proven track record of improving school status and academic outcomes.Supervisor: Mrs. Shamika Simpson, Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Duration: 2023-2024 School Year Salary: Per WAA Contract
