Certification Gr. 1-6, and Bilingual Extension Requisite Skills:¨ Strong knowledge of literacy content and real world applications¨ Strong organization and communication skills¨ Strong knowledge of digital platforms, including but not limited to Google Classroom Duties include but are not limited to:¨ Provide strong instruction to students as aligned to the NYS Standards for Bilingual Education¨ Cooperating with building and district staff¨ Maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance¨ Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and instructional resources¨ Approaching the position with a focus on equity:~ Children are diverse and have varying needs, therefore, extra attention should be paid to the areas of the curriculum that may be difficult for diverse students to access. This can be a book, a skill, or content. An equity-focused educator plans for how they are going to address this-whether it means swapping out one book for another or planning to work with specific children in small groups with more frequency than others. Teach for equity, not equality.
