POSITION: School Counselor LOCATION: Watervliet Jr. – Sr. High School START DATE: August 1, 2025SALARY: $54,197 - $68,465 (per WTA contract)Job Description:• Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program in the Jr.-Sr. High School;• Provide counseling services to students that encourage their continued growth and development;• Provide student exposure to college and career readiness skills;• Arrange and facilitate parent meetings with various staff members;• Collaborate with other counselors and support staff to meet the needs of students and the school community;• Develop school and student schedules;• Work collaboratively with administration on the transition of students from the high school; and• Act as a resource to students and families who are transitioning into high school.Minimum Qualifications:1. New York State certification in School Counseling is required.2. Strong knowledge of NYS Comprehensive School Counseling Program.3. Ability to work with students/staff in diverse social/cultural backgrounds.4. Ability to demonstrate job expectations. 5. Experience working with secondary-level students.6.
