The Watertown City School District is seeking a passionate and experienced instructional coach specializing in Pre-K education to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Pre-K classroom setting, expertise in Creative Curriculum, a keen ability to understand and address behavioral dynamics, and a strong dedication to supporting both students who are neurotypical and neurodivergent. This role also requires a proactive approach to coaching, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to serve as a model for classroom teachers.Responsibilities:Collaborate with Pre-K teachers to assess classroom needs and design tailored instructional strategies.Provide guidance and support in implementing the Creative Curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational goals and standards.Conduct classroom observations to understand behavioral dynamics and provide individualized support for students' needs.Offer personalized coaching sessions for teachers, focusing on instructional techniques, behavior management, and individualized student support.Develop and deliver workshops, training sessions, or professional development activities centered around Pre-K education and effective teaching practices.Model best practices in classroom settings, demonstrating effective teaching methods and strategies.Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging teachers to embrace lifelong learning and professional development opportunities.Collaborate with school leadership to assess the effectiveness of instructional methods and suggest improvements.Stay updated on current educational trends, research, and resources related to Pre-K education and instructional coaching.Required and Preferred Qualifications:Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related field (preferred).Preferred: Extensive experience working in Pre-K classrooms with a deep understanding of child development and Creative Curriculum.Preferred: Proven experience in instructional coaching, mentoring, or professional development within an educational setting.Preferred: Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and the ability to provide targeted support for diverse student needs.Preferred: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.Preferred: A growth mindset and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.Preferred: Ability to adapt to varying teaching styles and classroom environments.Preferred: Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting both teachers and students in their educational journey.This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator dedicated to making a positive impact on Pre-K education by providing valuable support and guidance to teachers, ultimately enhancing the learning experience for young children.This is a Universal Pre-Kindergarten grant-funded position and salary is commensurate with experience.
