Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a School Nurse position assigned to St. Mary’s School in Waterford, serving students in Prekindergarten through Grade 8. Position: School Nurse Location: St. Mary’s School, Waterford, NY Grade Levels: PreK–8 Start Date: September 1, 2026 Terms and Conditions: In accordance with the Waterford-Halfmoon UFSD CSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement Responsibilities The School Nurse will provide health services and support to students and staff, including: Providing first aid, emergency care, and routine nursing services Managing student medications and health care plans Maintaining required student health records and documentation Monitoring student health needs and communicating with families, staff, and health care providers as appropriate Supporting students with chronic or acute medical conditions Assisting with required screenings and other school health-related responsibilities Working collaboratively with school and district personnel to promote a safe and healthy school environment Qualifications Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license required Current CPR/AED certification Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school personnel, families, and health care providers Qualified candidates should submit a letter of interest, resume, and appropriate credentials to the Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District.
