Position OverviewWaterford Halfmoon Union Free School District is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to serve as Director of Facilities II. This working supervisor leads the Facilities Department, overseeing the maintenance, operation, and repair of all district facilities. The Director will be responsible for managing the department budget, purchasing, and ensuring safe and efficient facility operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and participate in the maintenance, repair, and operations of school district facilities.Develop, manage, and monitor the department budget.Oversee purchasing and procurement for facilities operations, ensuring compliance with district policies.Lead a team of facilities staff, providing direction, training, and performance evaluations.Develop and implement maintenance schedules and operational plans to ensure facilities are safe, clean, and in compliance with all regulations.Coordinate with contractors and vendors as necessary for specialized projects and services.Maintain records and prepare reports related to facility operations, budget, and personnel.QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and one of the following: A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS-registered four-year college with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture and two (2) years of full-time paid experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work, or construction management, one (1) year of which must have been at a supervisory level; OR B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS-registered two-year college with an Associate’s Degree or higher in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction Technology, or Architecture Technology and four (4) years of full-time paid experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work, or construction management, one (1) year of which must have been at a supervisory level; ORC. Six (6) years of full-time paid experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work, or construction management, one (1) year of which must have been at a supervisory level.
