This anticipated position will begin on or about a date to be determined. The Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics is a full-time 12-month position and will be responsible for all matters relating to the implementation and support of the health, physical education, athletics and wellness programs district-wide. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment of and recommendation for hiring staff and coaches, ensuring proper credentialing of all athletic coaches, supervision and evaluation of coaches and other staff, overseeing the physical education, health and athletics programs and budgets, facilitating and supporting district-wide health and wellness programs, overseeing the development and implementation of curricula in related areas, collaborating with community organizations, developing and submitting accurate reports at the District, Sectional and State level, collecting and analyzing data to evaluate program implementation to drive improvement, and developing and/or delivering appropriate professional development opportunities for students, staff and administrators.Qualifications:New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School Administrator (SDA) Certification.New York State Certification in Physical Education.Minimum 5 years of teaching and/or administrative experience in physical education.Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, coaches, parents, and administrators.Establish and maintain positive communication and relationships with community groups.Ability to lead, organize and manage a multi-faceted school and athletic program.Successful experience as an athletic coach or administrator.Demonstrated success as an educator.Salary commensurate with experience.
