Number of Positions: 1Salary: $49,202 - $69,480 commensurate with experienceLocation: TBD (some travel required)Work Hours: TBDA certified Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) will prepare instructional materials that cover all aspects of reading, writing, listening, and speaking for English Language Learners (ELLs) in assigned district(s). The teacher will follow Part 154 regulations and best instructional practices.Provide instructional support commensurate with Part 154 regulations and NYS Teaching StandardsSelect and sequence culturally relevant materials from established curriculumMaintain appropriate student records and actively monitor the progress of English Language Learners (ELLs); collaborate with classroom teachers and serve as the expert in best instructional practices for ELLsEstablish relationships with English Language Learners (ELLs), their families, classroom teachers and other school personnel to help districts develop regular communication with parents about student progress and needsModify content-specific assignments appropriate for ELLs at K-12 grade levels; incorporate technology when appropriate to enhance the learning experienceEstablish an efficient schedule which maximizes student contactParticipate annually in regional scoring of NYSESLAT exam and provide follow up support for assigned districtsParticipate in the professional community by communicating regularly with administration and staff, assisting with problem-solving around student issues, and maintaining appropriate training and professional developmentMinimum Requirements:Candidates must possess New York State Certification in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), or NYS approved supplementary certification pathwayExperience with K-12 learners, part 154 regulations, modifying instruction, strong communication with families/district teams, and the ability to organize efficiently.Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
