The Western Suffolk Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) invites outstanding candidates to apply for the position of District Superintendent of Schools, with an anticipated start date of February 1, 2023. The District Superintendent will serve as the local representative of the State Commissioner of Education by assisting local school districts in the implementation of New York State Education Law, the interpretation of the Commissioner’s Regulations and the rules of the Board of Regents. The District Superintendent will additionally hold responsibilities assigned by the Board of Education in the direct supervision of services for our component school districts. Western Suffolk BOCES is a regional education service agency which serves 18 school districts within the towns of Babylon, Huntington and Smithtown on Long Island, New York. Appropriate New York State Certification is required. Compensation will be determined by the Board on the basis of experience in compliance with state law which has set a salary cap and benefit limits.
