Western Suffolk BOCES anticipates an opening for a Coordinator of School Planning & Research. QUALIFICATIONS:• Must possess a master's degree in education or related field (e.g., social science, psychology)• New York State Certification as a School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL), highly preferred• At least three years of successful teaching experience (preK-12)• Experience in research, assessment, and data collection • Demonstrated skill(s) in current methods of statistical data collection and analysis (including commercial software used in such processes), and the development of conclusions and recommendations based on data.• Effective project-management, problem-solving, organizational, human relations, and written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word • Effective project-management, problem-solving, organizational, human relations, and written and verbal communication skills.• Abilities to communicate and work effectively with various stakeholder group and agencies - local county, town, village, and city officials, school district board, administration and committees JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:• To coordinate and fulfill timely requests for school research services available to districts throughout New York State• Support the divisional administrator with budget, marketing, and staff supervision• Use a variety of tools and techniques to compile, interpret and visually represent academic data in an accurate and timely manner for a variety of audiences including school boards, school district leadership, and community members.• Analyze and synthesize demographic variables and enrollment trends to formulate projections, facility analysis and the determination of viable school district operation alternatives• Provide technical expertise for analysis, interpretation and reporting of local and state level data.• Concisely communicate the interrelationship between demographics and educational factors to school enrollment• Comprehensive knowledge of enrollment projection and school capacity rating methodologies • Incorporate geographic information systems (GIS) to aid in developing school planning reports• Travel to school districts across New York State as needed; work schedule includes night meetings• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Divisional AdministratorTo apply, upload a job specific cover letter and resume.Apply on OLAS
