Western Suffolk BOCES anticipates the need for a Coordinator of School Planning and Research.QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Certification as a teacher, with a minimum of three years experience as a classroom teacherNew York Certification as a School District Administrator preferredMinimum of five years experience with BOCES and/or school district mattersSALARY: Low $90,000 rangeJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:To coordinate long range planning service available as a BOCES service to districts throughout New York State, including all program management and oversight issues, such as, budget, marketing, staff supervision, study research, preparation and presentationTo supervise and participate in the analysis of demographic variables and enrollment trends in order to formulate enrollment projections, educational facility analysis and the determination of viable school district operation alternativesTo integrate an extensive understanding of the interrelationship between demographics and educational factors to school enrollmentComprehensive knowledge of enrollment projection and school capacity rating methodologies are vitalExcellent communications skills, precise attention to detail and consistent follow up requiredExperience in computer applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word is essentialAn understanding of geographic information systems (GIS) and how it relates to school planningTo oversee consultants’ work in planning facilitation, Superintendent Hearings, and/or grant developmentTo meet with various groups - primarily local county, town, village, and city officials, school district board, administration and committeesTravel to school districts across New York State as neededWork schedule includes night meetingsSupervises support and program staffAdditional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive DirectorTo apply, upload a job specific cover letter and resume.
