White Plains Public Schools is seeking a Director of Elementary Teaching, Learning, And Assessment PreK-6. This administrative position is assigned to oversee the effectiveness of elementary programs across the district and reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Aside from NYS certification in SDA, SDL, or Administrator and in Elementary Education, the ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications: at least three years of successful experience as an administrator at least five years of teaching experience at the elementary level demonstrated record of seeking growth, responding well to challenge, and accepting the need for change when there is valid evidence that a practice is not working passion for the work and a willingness to embrace challenges along with a high level of problem-solving energy The goal of the Director of Elementary Learning, Learning, and Assessment PreK-6 is to improve teaching and learning by providing leadership in curriculum development, professional development, data management and analysis, test coordination, and the evaluation of current programming. to accomplish this, the selected candidate will, among other things, be responsible for the following: developing robust, school-based professional learning plans in collaboration with the principals and Curriculum Coordinators assisting building administrators with the planning and implementation of extended day and summer programming guiding the PreK-6 instructional program, instructional priorities, and curriculum development recruiting highly qualified, diverse instructional personnel to fill open positions and recommend candidates as per district guidelines supporting principals in the development of Title I School Wide Improvement Plans and monitor progress toward established goals Salary placement as per the Administrators and Supervisors Association agreement with full benefits.
