The White Plains Public Schools is seeking a Middle School Principal Grades 7-8 for the 2026-27 school year. NYS certification as a SDA, SAS, SBL, SDL or Administrator is required for this 12-month position. Qualifications ideal candidate should have include: Prior leadership experience at the K-8 level Strong leadership, management, instructional and organizational skills Familiarity with New York State Standards and Assessments Strong communication and human relations skills Demonstrated ability to manage and support staff members through supervision and evaluation Successful teaching experience for a minimum of 5 years The Middle School Principal is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the instructional program, support services and building operations. Other responsibilities include: Coordinate the instructional program to ensure that all students achieve at the highest levels Provide for a positive, high-expectations/high-support academic environment for students and staff Supervise and evaluate all certified and classified staff Maintain student discipline, order, and uniformity of organization; connect with students Assign and schedule teachers and students, in conjunction with coordinators Develop a building budget and monitor expenditures Salary placement as per the Administrators and Supervisors salary schedule with benefits.
