Participates in planning, analyzing, and implementing menus which meet nutritional goals;Assists in developing, analyzing and distributing standardized recipes;Assists in planning work assignments and schedules;Evaluates production techniques and develops plans to incorporate time saving production techniques into daily schedule;Confers with school administrators, faculty, staff, parents and students to ensure that the food service program complies with program mission and regulatory requirements;Determines the quantity of food to be prepared and insures adequate portion sizes and minimal leftovers; Orders food and supplies;Leads and participates in the preparation and serving of food following sanitary procedures and nutrition guidelines established by local, state, and federal regulations;Leads and participates in the receiving, storage and inventorying of food and supplies;Assists in implementing a catering program for special events;Operates computer point of sale terminal, computer e-mail, spreadsheet and word processing program;Completes and monitors cash receipts and bank deposit forms;Reports to Food Service management the need for equipment and facility repair, safety issues or accidents, and complaints and concerns regarding the program;Participates in the interviewing, selection, training and evaluating food service staff;Fosters a positive attitude toward good nutrition practices and program mission;Assists in implementation of professional growth program for employees;Maintains system of accountability;Evaluates profit and loss statement and participation data;Monitors meal service and food quality;Markets program;Participates in meetings with student advisory board and attends other meetings as required.
