NYS certification as SAS, SDA, SBL or SDL is required for an anticipated probationary position as an Assistant Principal at Highlands Middle School. This 11 month position is expected to become available August 15, 2024 and the work year is August 15 - July 15.Aside from NYS certification, qualifications for this position are:knowledge of middle school philosophy, development and curriculumteaching experience in grades 6 through 8 preferably in a middle school environmentleadership potential or prior administrative/supervisory experience in a middle school environmentSpanish speaking preferredexcellent work ethicResponsibilities include:overseeing afterschool activities for students as needed including the submission of afterschool approvalscompleting building master schedules as well as testing and special event schedulesassisting faculty in developing expertise in instructional practicessupervising, evaluating and providing assistance to staff members including work with the student information systemSalary placement as per the White Plains Administrators salary schedule and full benefits.
