GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Supervises and coordinates the food production and meal service; performs related duties as needed to accomplish the program mission and to maximize resources and provide quality service.MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma and either:A) An Associate’s Degree* with major course work in quantity food preparation, food administration, nutrition or institutional management and two (2) years’ experience in quantity food preparation and/or quantity food service and/or menu planning; orB) Satisfactory completion of 30 credits at a recognized college or university* with major course work in quantity food preparation, dietetics, nutrition, or institutional management may be substituted for each year of the required training toward the *Associate’s Degree or experience as indicated in (A) above.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Certification issued by the Westchester County Department of Health for Applied Food Service Sanitation.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES: Knowledge of quantity food preparation and service techniques; knowledge of nutrition standards; menu planning and food equipment operation and maintenance; ability to follow oral instructions; ability to read, write and speak English; ability to operate Point of Sale computer system; ability to supervise the work of others; ability to work cooperatively with school administrators, staff, faculty, students and parents; good personal hygiene habits; dependability; manual dexterity; ability to perform in a reasonable manner the essential functions of the position.License/Certification: Applied Food Service Sanitation certification (Preferred)
