Assistant Superintendent for Human ResourcesSummary: Member of Superintendent’s senior leadership team, responsible for leading all functions of human resources and other functions as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate is a strategic problem solver who contributes to the overall goals of the district and serves as a critical liaison in the support instructional and business functions. The successful candidate must be highly collaborative with demonstrated high-leverage leadership experience. Qualifications: SDL/SDASalary: To coincide with experienceStart Date: July 1, 2023Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures development and compliance of BOE policies and governmental statutes, rules and regulations;Ensures that district personnel practices conform to district policies, relevant laws, and collective bargaining agreements. This includes employee investigations, progressive discipline, hearings and contractual grievances, when necessary;Develops and ensures adherence to recruitment, selection, and evaluation processes of a highly qualified staff for all positions;Work with district employees regarding Human Resources related matters including but not limited to employee benefits programs, FMLA, ADA and requests for leave;Negotiating employment conditions and terms for all bargaining units, as well as the development of non-aligned contracts;Plans, develops and administers staff record-keeping programs and procedures concerning personnel files, certification, seniority, longevity, tenure, benefits and attendance;Provide leadership and direct supervision of Human Resource employees and ensures a collaborative and interdependent relationship with all offices;Oversees the Security department with the Director of Human Resources;Prepares all necessary paperwork for the Board agenda with the human resources staff for the Superintendent’s submission to the Board of Education (including background checks, and fingerprints);Responds to questionnaires or inquiries from the State, outside organizations with information related to the Human Resources office;Develop and monitor Human Resources budget and participate in the development of the District budget (specific to staff needs);Employee benefits administration- Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, Flex Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Life Insurance, death benefits;Work with Auditors to conduct personnel audits;Work with legal team on a regular basis;Serve as Covid Coordinator;Liaison to outside organizations (Family Service league’s family Center, food pantry);Assessing and designing administrative professional development;Recruit, approves and maintain lists of per diem substitutes (all units);Supervises Nursing staff; andPerforms such additional duties as may be delegated by the Superintendent.Must apply on OLAS (ATTN: Kevin Coster)Do not call or send hard copies
