Appointments will be provisional prior to receiving exam results.School Bus Dispatcher12-month position, 8 Hours/day, 40 hours/week DUTIES: Under the supervision of the School Transportation Director assists in coordinating and directing the actions of school bus drivers. A small degree of latitude is exercised by the employee in implementing and carrying out established policies of the transportation program. QUALIFICATIONS: Three (3) years of experience in school transportation or a related field such as commercial bus or truck transportation. Possession of the appropriate license to operate a school bus (CDL), issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at time of appointment with “S” (school bus) endorsement;Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.Good knowledge of standard transportation methods and programs as related to school districts.Good knowledge of current New York State Motor Vehicle Laws, rules, and regulations as applied to the operation of school buses.Good knowledge of standard safety practices as applicable to school transportation programsAbility to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships between drivers, parents, principals, and children.Ability to make oral and written reports and the ability to speak effectivelyPhysical condition commensurate with the positionSALARY: per WNIEA contract of agreementAPPLICATION PROCEDURE: Please apply online via Seneca County Civil Service:https://seneca-portal.mycivilservice.com Please make sure to choose Waterloo School as the municipality you are applying for.
