Special Education Kindergarten Teacher (6:1:1 Classroom) Probationary Appointment, Start Date 9/2/2025The 6:1:1 classroom will be divided into two sections, an AM and PM session. This set up helps us better meet the individual needs of each student while still maintaining the structure and support of a traditional 6:1:1 program. DESCRIPTION: As the classroom teacher, you’ll work with a small group of exceptional students who are beginning their educational journey. Our students may have a range of developmental, communication, and behavioral needs, and you’ll be instrumental in helping them grow socially, emotionally, and academically—at their own pace and in their own way. This is more than a teaching job; it’s a chance to be part of a team that celebrates every small victory and builds lasting relationships with children and families. QUALIFICATIONS: ? * NYS Special Education Certification (B-2 or K-12)? * Patience, empathy, and a sense of humor (a must!)? * Strong collaboration and communication skills? * Passion for working with young learners who have a variety of needs? PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Create a safe, joyful, and structured classroom where students feel supported and successfulPlan and implement individualized instruction based on IEP goals and student strengthsCollaborate closely with service providers and paraprofessionalsUse visuals, sensory tools, hands-on activities, and creative strategies to engage all types of learnersMaintain strong communication with families and celebrate student progress, big and smallTrack and log data of student's goal progressWrite and develop IEPs based on present levels of performanceParticipate in CSE or other meetings when requested SALARY: Minimum $52,315 with master’s per WEA contract of agreement. Final salary will be commensurate with experience. $5,000 SIGNING BONUS, included with this position!!!
