ANTICIPATED BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST DISTRICTWIDE The West Islip UFSD is seeking a highly qualified and compassionate professional to join our student support services team as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an expert in behavioral intervention who is passionate about creating inclusive, supportive learning environments and collaborating with educators, administrators, and families. This individual will play an integral role in ensuring the behavioral and academic success of all students in line with our mission, “Every Student, Every Day!” Required Qualifications & Certifications ? BCBA Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is required. ? Supplemental NYS certification in Special Education, School Psychology or other NYSED Certification Qualifications & Core Responsibilities The ideal candidate will serve as a district-wide behavioral resource and must be well-versed in the following: ? Behavioral Assessments: Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the function of challenging student behaviors. ? Intervention Plans: Design, implement, and monitor evidence-based, individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to student needs. ? Data-Driven Practice: Establish robust systems for behavior data collection and analyze progress trends regularly to make informed clinical adjustments. ? Staff Consultation: Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, providers, and administrators to model proactive classroom management and behavioral strategy implementation. ? Training & Supervision: Provide ongoing training and guidance to paraprofessionals, teaching assistants, and support staff regarding behavioral protocols and safety crisis management. ? Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and multi-disciplinary building teams to support IEP goals and student transitions. Additional Professional Expectations ? Mindset: A student-centered approach focusing on positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and restorative frameworks. ? Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively translate complex behavioral data for parent training, family updates, and CSE meetings. ?
