We also want an educator who will allow our students to discover their unique strengths creatively. Finally, we want to collaborate with a professional whose vision for inclusive, joyful learning matches ours. This opportunity is a win-win for you and our students. If you are interested, here is what year one is all about. This opportunity is not just a series of philosophical questions for a Special Education educator – it will be your daily reality. Becoming a member of the #RamFam will allow you to create the conditions for students to experience growth and then provide the support necessary to transform their learning journey. We also want an educator who:Has high levels of knowledge and understanding of special education methodology, developmental disabilities, learning differences, and evidence-based interventions while maintaining a current understanding of IDEA regulations and best practices for students with diverse learning needs. This includes demonstrating understanding in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and effectively implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions to promote skill development and self-regulation in an 8:1:2 classroom environment, providing individualized support tailored to each student's unique learning profile. Can guide learning to surface and deep outcomes for diverse learners by skillfully scaffolding instruction to meet students where they are developmentally, moving them from basic skill acquisition to meaningful application and generalization across settings. Can successfully monitor learning and provide targeted feedback for student progress through systematic data collection and analysis. Realistically, we need someone with the proper certifications. However, you must understand that this work requires both heart and expertise – or utilize our vast professional development opportunities to hone your craft. You will be expected to collaborate effectively with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers. The successful candidate will naturally create an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and discuss why teaching "moves" have or have not worked for individual learners. While this is all about year one and beyond, day one is good, too. There are things like compensation, the district, the staff, and the location. However, none of this matter unless "Year One and Beyond" makes career sense for you. Desired Skills and ExperienceIf you can accomplish the above, you have what it takes. Realistically, it would help if you had the proper certification and hands-on knowledge of IEP development, behavior management, ABA implementation, and differentiated instruction for young children with disabilities. If you have it, you know why. If you do not, ask someone who does, and if they think you can do the work or they will help you through it, let's talk.
