We want a support staff member whoBuilds and maintains strong relationships with school staff, parents, families, and external service providers to foster collaboration.Engages families in the educational process, building trusting partnerships to support student success.Develops and implement programs that support family involvement/engagement in student learning and school activities.Facilitates communication between families and schools to address concerns, share information, and improve outcomes for students.Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and respect for the diverse backgrounds of families and staff.Provides group work facilitation to support parent workshops, family events, or community outreach initiatives.Promotes a belief in the potential for personal growth and positive change within the school community.Collaborates with mental health providers, educators, school leaders and human services professionals to address family needs and student well-being.Realistically, the role requires the ability to provide feedback that supports student well-being, personal growth, and family involvement. The successful candidate will naturally prioritize the social-emotional needs of students while fostering strong relationships with families to encourage their active participation in the school community. Additionally, they should be able to reflect on and discuss the effectiveness of various counseling strategies and interventions, ensuring that both students and their families are supported.While this is all about year one and beyond, day one is good, too. There are things like compensation, the district, the staff, and the location. However, none of this matters unless "Year One and Beyond" makes career sense for you. Desired Skills and Experience If you can accomplish the above, you have what it takes. Ideally, it would help if you have experience or background in psychology, school counseling, or sociology.
