PERSONNEL BULLETINFOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR: Director of Adult Education The Director of Adult Education is a district-level administrator who will supervise the Westbury Adult Learning Center and Adult and Continuing Education Program. The director will develop community-based programs, supervise staff, evaluate personnel, manage grants, and provide professional development to the staff aligned to the district’s initiatives and strategic plan. The director will challenge practitioners, students and families with high standards, high expectations, to ensure preparation for college and careers in a multilingual/multicultural global society and perform any other duties assigned by the Superintendent and/or the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Administer and supervise the Westbury Adult Learning Center and the Adult and Continuing Education Program.Recruit and participate in the hiring process of staff.Observe and evaluate staff in the programs.Assess programmatic effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.Proactively build and maintain community partnerships and proactively communicate initiatives among the families, staff, students, community members, and partners.Write and executive grants.Oversee the budget of the programs.Implement professional development to enhance adult education programs.Monitor the ASISTS database and produce daily reports.Ensure data is inputted by each site’s manager.Report accurate information to NYSED, the LI-RAEN, and the Personnel Information Form (PIF).Incorporate computer and other 21st Century technology into the management and instructional process. Type of Position:Probationary/Tenure Track.Grant Funded. Requirements:New York State School District Leader Certification and/or New York State School District Administrator Certification Required.Master’s Degree required; Doctorate preferred.At least five years of successful teaching experience required.Experience in teaching and/or supervising adult education programs preferred.
