PERSONNEL BULLETINFOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR: Assistant to the Superintendent for Student Services and Safety Re-Advertisement of position and candidates who previously applied remain under consideration and need not apply again. Overview of the PositionThe Assistant to the Superintendent for Student Services and Safety coordinates all aspects of security at the building-level and district-wide level, so that the department can operate in the safest and healthiest environment possible. The Assistant to the Superintendent for Student Services and Safety develops and implements district-wide training, policies, and practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and Board of Education guidelines. In addition, this person is responsible for District-Wide security operations, compliance training with identified employees, training all employees on emergency procedures & protocols, serving as a liaison with NCPD and Homeland Security supervising all district security personnel, all aspects of school safety and security, and any other responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. Duties and performance responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Create, update, and implement safety plans.Ensure the health and safety of all students and employees.Collaborate with central office, school administrators and other personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant safety operations of the district.Recruit, supervise, and evaluate both certified and classified personnel in the areas of security.Oversee and manage the financial affairs of the district that fall under his/her supervision.Organize and direct a program of in-service training aimed at increasing the skills of personnel.Maintain open lines of communication with the local and state community.Supervise the SAVE Legislation process.All other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
