The West Canada Valley Central School District, located at 5447 State Route 28 in Newport, NY, is seeking a reliable and hardworking candidate to join our facilities team as a full-time, Custodian (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 12-months). The ideal candidate will take pride in keeping our schools clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Set up and break down spaces for school events Respond promptly to cleanup calls throughout the day Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling Maintain cleanliness of floors, including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping Clean and sanitize bathrooms, windows, and cafeteria areas Ensure supply areas are stocked and organized Perform other custodial duties as assigned Qualifications: Ability to lift 50 pounds and move equipment or furniture as needed Strong work ethic with attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred but not required This position offers paid holidays, vacation, sick and personal time, medical and dental insurance, CSEA Gold Plan vision coverage, and New York State retirement benefits.
