WEST BABYLON SCHOOLS ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY 2026-2027 ALTERNATIVE EVENING HIGH SCHOOL – TEACHING POSITIONS The West Babylon School District is seeking qualified and dedicated teachers to serve in our Alternative Night School Program for the 2025–2026 school year. This program provides students with an alternative pathway to meet graduation requirements through small-group instruction, individualized support, and a flexible evening schedule. HOURLY RATE: $40.41/hr. SCHEDULE: Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday Evenings (dependent upon student course needs and participation) HOURS: 6:15 pm - 8:45 pm QUALIFICATIONS: New York State certification in subject area (English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Special Education, PE/Health) Successful experience as a teacher of subject/content area Experience working with at-risk or non-traditional learners preferred Strong communication, flexibility, and classroom management skills Proven ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents Demonstrate understanding of cooperative learning principles and techniques FUNCTIONS: Serve on the secondary level/teach assigned course Core subject areas (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies) Elective and support courses (based on student needs and enrollment) Deliver engaging instruction aligned with NYS learning standards. Provide academic and social-emotional support to students pursuing alternative pathways. Maintain student supervision in a classroom setting, accurate records of student attendance, progress, and outcomes. Collaborate with administrators, counselors, and support staff to ensure student success.
