WEST BABYLON SCHOOLS ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY 2026-2027 MATHEMATICS TEACHER Part-Time Appointment (.4) Junior High School [due to resignation] QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification – Secondary Mathematics 7-12 Successful experience as a teacher of Mathematics Experience with administering NYS assessments (Grade 3-8 Assessments, and/or Regents assessments) Proven ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents; positive relationship skills Demonstrate understanding of NYSED Standards Demonstrated understanding of, or experience with, the use of computers as instructional tools FUNCTIONS: Teach secondary schedule using NYSED Standards Assess students using various assessment measures Provide tutorial and/or extra-help assistance for students as needed Perform assigned student supervision and record-keeping responsibilities Demonstrate commitment to professional growth Model for students an interest in life-long learning in subject area and general knowledge Support school-wide activities through chaperoning, involvement with student activities and/or coaching *FTE status during the 2026-2027 school year is contingent upon secondary student enrollment.
