Varsity Assistant (G) BASKETBALL NAME: _________________________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS: (Indicate your credentials with an “x” in the appropriate box/boxes below) Applicants must be available by 2:15 pm on regular school days Applicants must oversee the organization’s student activity account, if one exists, in accordance with District guidelines ¨ Physical Education Teacher: CPR/First Aid Online Concussion Certification Certificate ¨ Other Teacher: CPR/First Aid Online Concussion Certification Certificate (a) Complete an approved course in Philosophy, Principles and Organization of Athletics in Education within two years from the date of initial appointment as a coach; (b) Complete a course on Health Sciences Applied to Coaching within five years of appointment as a coach; and (c) also, within that same five years, complete a course on Theory and Techniques of Coaching the sport or sports for which he/she is appointed. ¨ Non-Teacher (supporting documentation of qualifications required): CPR/First Aid Online Concussion Certification Certificate Obtain a Temporary Coaching license by applying online through NYSED TEACH system Submit child abuse prevention workshop, violence abuse prevention workshop, and DASA training workshop documentation Meet the following course requirements and timelines listed below: (a) Complete an approved course in Philosophy, Principles and Organization of Athletics in Education within two years from the date of initial appointment as a coach; (b) Complete a course on Health Sciences Applied to Coaching within five years of appointment as a coach; and (c) also, within that same five years, complete a course on Theory and Techniques of Coaching the sport or sports for which he/she is appointed.
