WEST BABYLON SCHOOLSANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCIES2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR SPRING HEAD/ASSISTANT COACHES POSITIONS CONTINGENT UPON STUDENT PARTICIPATION Lacrosse (B) Varsity Assistant JV Head JV Assistant NAME:________________________________________________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS: (Indicate your credentials with an “x” in the appropriate box/boxes below)Applicants must be available by 2:35 pm on regular school daysApplicants must oversee the organization’s student activity account, if one exists, in accordance with District guidelinesPhysical Education Teacher:- CPR/First Aid- Online Concussion Certification Certificate Other Teacher:- CPR/First Aid- Online Concussion Certification Certificate- (a) Complete an approved course in Philosophy, Principles and Organization of Athletics in Education within two years from the date of initial appointment as a coach;- (b) Complete a course on Health Sciences Applied to Coaching within five years of appointment as a coach; and (c) also, within that same five years, complete a course on Theory and Techniques of Coaching the sport or sports for which he/she is appointed.Non-Teacher (supporting documentation of qualifications required):- CPR/First Aid- Online Concussion Certification Certificate- Obtain a Temporary Coaching license by applying online through NYSED TEACH system- Submit child abuse prevention workshop, violence abuse prevention workshop, and DASA training workshop documentation - Meet the following course requirements and timelines listed below:(a) Complete an approved course in Philosophy, Principles and Organization of Athletics in Education within two years from the date of initial appointment as a coach;(b) Complete a course on Health Sciences Applied to Coaching within five years of appointment as a coach; and (c) also, within that same five years, complete a course on Theory and Techniques of Coaching the sport or sports for which he/she is appointed.
