WEST BABYLON SCHOOLSANNOUNCEMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY2025-2026Assistant Superintendent for Finance & OperationsFull Time Probationary Position (12 Month) QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s Degree/NYS Certification as School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Business Leader (SDBL)Successful candidates with a minimum of five (5) years administrative experience and/or experience as a successful leader in the areas of public-school finance, budget development and management and business office operations. CPA candidates preferred.Strong understanding of all aspects of the Business Office inclusive of grants, vendor services and payments, procurement, payroll, benefits, tax collection, and risk managementKnowledge and/or experience in fiscal planning, execution and monitoring of the district’s financial operations.Proven ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents; good human relations and supervisory skills. Great communication and organizational skillsDiverse candidates are encouraged to applyFUNCTIONS:The Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations is responsible for developing and promoting practices which are both fiscally and educationally sound, and which will provide optimum educational opportunities for students in the West Babylon School District. In accordance with these responsibilities, as chief fiscal and financial administrator, the duties of such The Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations shall include:Responsible for overall financial operations of the district, including development and maintenance of annual budgets and long-range financial projects. This includes the receipt, safekeeping and accounting for, and disbursement of all public funds as required by state and federal law and in accordance with board regulations and district policies as well as applicable professional and ethical standards.Responsible for internal controls to safeguard District assets.Experience in NYSED and NY Comptroller regulations, accounting, accounts payable, purchasing, payroll and benefits.
