WEST BABYLON SCHOOLSANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY 2025-2026 SCHOOL NURSEPROBATIONARY APPOINTMENT1:1 504 Assignments/DW SupportNew Position MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: LPN License Required CPR/First Aid Successful experience as a nurse in a school setting (Diabetic experience preferred) Ability to work under clinical supervision Demonstrate ability to work with disabled students: Assist student(s) with personal needs, such as but not limited to the following: Help with apparel, adjust orthopedic devices, toileting Assist students confined to wheelchairs and crutches to enter and exit building and to move to areas throughout the day Possible use of Epi-Pen after receiving training and based on individual student needs Proven ability to successfully interact with child study teams, Committee on Special Education, classroom teachers and building administrators Proven ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents--good human relations skills Proficient use of computers for record keeping, reporting and communication (eSchool, Google and Microsoft platforms, NYSIIS, Health Commerce System, etc.) FUNCTIONS: To provide health care services to students including first aid and evaluations To monitor student attendance as it relates to medical problems To maintain accurate medical records To assist school physician with student examinations To serve as liaison between school personnel and parents in matters relating to student medical issues To provide training as needed within the scope of practice To participate in 504, CSE, IST and other meetings for students with health needs To prepare, review and distribute individualized health care plans To perform medical screenings associated with the school setting If interested, please respond online at www.olasjobs.org/ no later thanOctober 8, 2025.
