WEST BABYLON SCHOOLSANNOUNCEMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY2025-2026JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLINTERIM ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification as School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) or School District Administrator (SDA) and/or School Building Leader (SBL) Master's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience Three (3) years of building level administrative and/or department leader experience preferred Proven ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents; good human relations and supervisory skills Great communication and organizational skills Proficient in educational and administrative technology Strong knowledge and/or experience with the design, development and implementation of the high school curriculum Deep understanding of and experience with adolescent physical, emotional and intellectual development FUNCTIONS: Assist the junior high school principal in the overall administration of the school, supervision and evaluation of staff, building initiatives and goals, including the requisition and inventory of supplies and equipment Participate and oversee the implementation of NYS Standards & APPR Regulations Supervise and manage student discipline Supervise and coordinate all school-sponsored functions and activities, including assembly, awards programs and graduation preparation Work collaboratively with the principal and department leaders in the development of curriculum, instruction, staff development initiatives, and budget development/expenditures Participate in training related to supervision of instruction, curriculum development and other areas related to improved student performance Participate and provide insight/recommendations to the Junior High School Instructional Support Team to address the behaviors of at-risk students Responsible for local and state testing/assessments as well as final exam and proctoring schedules Responsible for the development of the master schedule, completion of all state reports including BEDS and VADIR Supervision of paraprofessional and clerical employees Supervision and attendance at a variety of evening events Other responsibilities as assigned by the principal Salary and benefits competitive, per collective bargaining agreement.
