WEST BABYLON SCHOOLSANNOUNCEMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCYDirector of K-12 Student Data & Instructional TechnologyProbationary Appointment12 months QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s Degree/NYS Certification as School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) - additional certifications preferredCandidates with administrative experience and/or at least five (5) years of leadership experience in Student Data & Instructional Technology Proficient in educational and administrative technology, state standards, curriculum and staff developmentExperience in the Google Workspace for Education platform Great communication and organizational skillsProven ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents; good human relations and supervisory skillsDiverse candidates are encouraged to applyFUNCTIONS:The Director of K-12 Student Data & Instructional Technology will provide leadership and assume management responsibility for the direction, coordination, support and implementation of instructional and administrative technology across all school district buildings and departments. The director supervises the Technology Support Staff and reports to Central Administration. Listed below and other essential responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent: Serve as the district’s CIO for all federal, state and local data maintenance and reportingServes as the Ed Law 2d Compliance OfficerResponsible for planning, purchasing, maintaining and integrating instructional technology into all education programs K-12 Develop, implement and provide a comprehensive staff development program related to use of instructional technology and student data to inform instructionSupport building administration in analysis of student data/assessmentsActs as the primary resource to the superintendent and other administrative staff in assessing the district’s technology needs. Communicate regularly with building administrators, Directors and central administration Manages maintenance and upkeep of the district’s network and technology infrastructureDevelops and oversees the annual department budget and expendituresCyber security technology project management, implementation and compliance with NYSED guidelines and best practices District wide video surveillance and access control systems technology Evaluates and formulates administrative recommendations for the acquisition of educational/administrative hardware, software and services Providing leadership and instructional technology support and/or coordination for the school districtParticipate as a external Lead Evaluator for instructional staff (as needed)Coordinate the reporting of all required data to the NYSED to comply with state and federal accountabilityResponsible for assisting administrators with the collection and state reporting of BEDs, Civil Rights, APPR, student information system and other similar reporting requirements.Implement all school district policies relating to technologyManages integration of school district applications including but not limited to, school business management system (ie nVision), student information system (eSchoolData), communications applications (ie ParentSquare, Website), student curricular and assessment software programs (ie benchmark, iReady), transportation system integrations (eSchool and Transfinder), etc.Serve as a liaison with BOCES, other districts, local, state and federal agencies and nonpublic schools in all aspects of Student Data and TechnologyAttend professional development, conferences and professional organization meetings, includingBOCES District Data Coordinator, Model Schools, and Suffolk County Technology Directorsmeetings.Coordinate the District’s Technology Committee and serve as a member of the District’s, Safety Committee, SMC, SMT and SQRC, etc.Collaborates with the assistant superintendent for curriculum and building principals in the development and implementation of the district's 3 year technology plan.Accept other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools Competitive Salary & Benefits Qualified candidates should submit a letter of interest and an updated resume online at: www.olasjobs.org/longisland by June 13, 2025 to:Mr. Shawn Hanley, Deputy Superintendent for Human ResourcesWest Babylon Schools10 Farmingdale RoadWest Babylon, NY 11704
