WEST BABYLON SCHOOLS ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY 2025-2026 Music Teacher Probationary Appointment OVERVIEW:West Babylon UFSD is seeking a passionate and certified Music Teacher (K-12) with a strong background in orchestra and strings to join our dynamic music department. The ideal candidate will have experience directing performing ensembles, engaging students in high-quality music instruction, and fostering a love for music. This role requires strong instructional skills, a commitment to student success, and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Music Certification K-12Expert knowledge in orchestra and strings preferredSuccessful teaching experience with orchestra performing group experience preferredDesire and knowledge to balance students’ social/emotional and academic/intellectual needsEvidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills with parents, staff and students.Desire and ability to work collaboratively with colleaguesKnowledge of implementation and evaluation strategies in accordance with the current NYS Standards for the ArtsKnowledge and evidence of unit planning and lesson design using Understanding by Design, differentiated instruction, curriculum mapping and multiple assessmentEvidence of strong classroom management with an emphasis on student engagement and student success in the classroomCommitment to curriculum development, professional development, flexible teamwork, and instructional technologyUses varied instructional methods and assessments to support:?
