WEST BABYLON SCHOOLSANNOUNCEMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY2024-2025JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLASSISTANT PRINCIPALProbationary Appointment QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Certification as School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) or School District Administrator (SDA) and/or School Building Leader (SBL) Master's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experienceThree (3) years of building level administrative and/or department leader experience preferredProven ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents; good human relations and supervisory skillsGreat communication and organizational skillsProficient in educational and administrative technology Strong knowledge and/or experience with the design, development and implementation of the high school curriculumDeep understanding of and experience with adolescent physical, emotional and intellectual development FUNCTIONS:Assist the junior high school principal in the overall administration of the school, supervision and evaluation of staff, building initiatives and goals, including the requisition and inventory of supplies and equipmentParticipate and oversee the implementation of State Standards & APPR RegulationsSupervise and manage student disciplineSupervise and coordinate all school-sponsored functions and activities, including assembly, awards programs and graduation preparationWork collaboratively with the principal and department leaders in the development of curriculum, instruction, staff development initiatives, and budget development/ expendituresParticipate in training related to supervision of instruction, curriculum development and other areas related to improved student performanceParticipate and provide insight/recommendations to our Instructional Support Team to address the behaviors of at-risk students Responsible for local and state testing/assessments as well as final exam and proctoring schedulesResponsible for the development of the master schedule, completion of all state reports including BEDS and VADIRSupervision of paraprofessional and clerical employees Supervision and attendance at a variety of evening eventsOther responsibilities as assigned by the principal Salary and benefits competitive, per collective bargaining agreement.
